Last week, I told someone I run team-building events.
Their immediate response? “Like… a ropes course?”
That made me laugh, because for most people, “team building” instantly means either something extreme (helmets, harnesses, and a waiver) or something underwhelming (awkward icebreakers and chain-store pizza).
Everything has its place, but I believe workplaces need something different: meaningful moments of connection and creativity.
And creativity is more than just “making crafts.” It’s a research-backed way to reduce stress, boost morale, and help people connect in ways they wouldn’t on their own. The tricky part? Not everyone’s signing up for a “creativity hour” in the middle of the workday, and that’s where we come in.
We design creative, hands-on experiences that surprise people. They don’t require anything from your team except to show up and be open to trying something new.
Want to see exactly what that looks like? Check out our recent project with Western Michigan University’s Hayworth College of Business during Employee Appreciation Week.
It’s a quick read, with photos, takeaways, and real results, including how it helped boost morale and strengthen culture without a single helmet or trust fall in sight.
